Victoria Valdez, LMFT
Healing From Trauma Using Brainspotting
Victoria Valdez is the group practice's founder, owner, and Clinical Operational Director
of Tri-Synergry Counseling (TSC). She is a bilingual (Spanish & English) Licensed
Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT#1944) in Brentwood, TN. She specializes in
working with kids, teens, parents, and women. She has over 15 years of experience
working with children, teens, and families. In addition, she has specialized training in
treating mental health issues among children, teens, parents, and women: trauma,
PTSD, anxiety, ADHD, depression, and grief. Victoria is a LENS Neurofeedback
provider and parent coach.
Qualifications
Victoria holds a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy (MMFT) from Lipscomb
University in Nashville, a bachelor's of Liberal Arts Psychology, and a minor in
criminology from Texas A&M - San Antonio in Texas. She has worked in various settings
to deliver mental health care, including non-profit organizations, in-school counseling,
community-based therapy, in-home counseling, private practice, and group practice.
Victoria has provided mental health assessment and treatment for over eight years. She
has evaluated and treated clients who suffer from trauma due to childhood sexual and
physical abuse, childhood neglect, domestic violence, murder, racial persecution,
environmental catastrophe, self-harm, and more.
Victoria has over eight years of experience treating clients with anxiety, depression,
PTSD, trauma, and grief. She received specialized training in conducting psychological
immigration evaluations through The University of Tennessee Knoxville. She is also a
participating member of the SI-Serving Immigrants, a non-profit organization that
provides mental health evaluations for immigrants at low cost or pro bono.
Victoria has been a Lipscomb University Marriage and Family Therapy Advisory Board
member for the last three years and is the current Tennessee Latinx &
Spanish-speaking Therapist Group leader. The group is a Spanish-speaking therapist
and Latinx group that collaborates under the leadership of Victoria to serve Spanish-speaking
clients in Tennessee. Victoria is an American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy
(AAMFT) approved supervisor candidate and currently provides clinical supervision for
counseling interns and marriage and family therapists pursuing licensure. She is a counseling
practicum field instructor for UMass Global, National University, Lipscomb University, and
the University of Tennessee- Nashville.
